Does your laptop really need a screen protector?

When people buy new gadgets, they tend to cover them with all the protection. For instance, when you buy a phone, you attach the screen protector with it along with the back cover. Because that is a necessity for your phone. But, when it comes to your laptop, you don't really need one. The way that your laptop is designed becomes the major factor here.

Design of the Laptop: Laptop design involves closing and opening the lid of the screen. If you put a screen protector on it thinking that it is actually protecting my laptop screen from scratches, dust etc.. You are only damaging the screen more instead of protecting it. When the lid of the laptop is closed, there's a gap between the screen glass and the keyboard. That gap is really necessary for your screen. It protects it from the permanent scratches that it can have on the laptop if there's no gap.

So, by adding the screen protector, you're actually taking away that gap. The screen will be pressed against the keyboard as long as you keep the lid closed. This will leave permanent marks on the keyboard on the screen. Even though the screen protector is attached and you keep on thinking that those scratches are on the protector, due to continuous pressing, they leave some scratches on the screen as well.

Besides that, you will not have a high-quality display due to the added protection. The protector will get dusty and filthy in no time. In my opinion, when you buy an expensive gadget, you deserve to have all the high-quality experience it gives. If your laptop falls from the table or bed, the screen protector is not going to make much difference in the outcome.

So, take that thing off now before it's too late.
